Creating a lasting legacy for communities

Charities & the Public Sector

Community projects for charities and the public sector

Charities, communities, schools and councils often have incredible vision, but limited resources to make it a reality.

At the heart of every Splash Project is a charity or community in need. Over the last 20 years, we have supported hundreds of charities and communities across 38 countries worldwide, providing a legacy for thousands of vulnerable people through infrastructure builds worth in excess of £20 million.

Splash Projects support businesses and business schools to fulfil their community impact objectives through an experiential individual and team learning experience. And, because they sponsor the build, there is no cost to our charity partners.

Here, you can read a powerful impact statement from a UK food bank charity which benefited from a Splash Project in June 2022.

Your vision, our goal

Our classic projects are predominantly made out of (sustainably sourced) timber and include playgrounds (including castles!) growing and sensory gardens, outdoor classrooms (including buses!) and communal seating areas. But we love a challenge, so we are always open to new ideas!

Each project is designed bespoke to the specifications of our charity partner.

We will work with you to understand exactly what you need. Following an initial site visit, our in-house design team will turn your vision into a 3D design and one of our experienced Project Managers will plan the project on your behalf.

Partnership

Our business or business school partners are always local to the recipient organisation. In addition to funding the build, their team builds the infrastructure under the expert guidance of our Project Facilitators.

Our project builds are built to the highest specifications, are fully health and safety compliant and adhere to British Building Regulations.

Testimonials

Under your guidance, despite the rain, the QRT team successfully transformed our Garden of Hope into a peaceful haven. The addition of a pergola, bench tables and chairs has created a nurturing space for our pregnant girls to reflect and find solace during a pivotal time in their lives. Your expertise, vision and leadership brought this project to life, and we are truly grateful for your unwavering support.

Louise Liu Director, Finance and Operations, Mother’s Choice, Hong Kong

In just seven days, we saw this beautiful garden, co-designed with our community, come to life. Alongside it, we now have a new woodworking shed to support our social enterprise activities. The hard work of all those involved has created a space that will be cherished by children and adults with learning disabilities, autism, and other neurodiversities for years to come. The new woodwork cabin will transform what we’re able to do with our adults with learning disabilities.

Janet Schofield, CEO, Compass Advocacy Network, Northern Ireland

You have been so kind from the beginning to the end. Our young people were so happy to discover the playground. It’s more than we could have expected. My team works hard to ensure the children progress, so it is a huge gift for them too. We are all so grateful.

Maouche Peggy, Responsable IME Le Val d’Essonnes, France

Dan, thank you so much for listening to the children’s ideas and adapting the design. Jim and Liam, you worked your socks off with the SJP volunteers to get everything done in the timescale. The new woodland shelter will enable us to continue our work for the children in new and varied ways.

Claire de Ruiter, Forest School Leader, Rainow Primary School

The Splash Projects team is simply incredible; they took an idea that we had, developed it with us, made it better, added over 40 incredible female volunteers and built us the most spectacular community garden! It is far more than we could have ever hoped for, dreamed of, or created. Their work has made a massive difference to our community. We will talk about Splash and this project for generations to come as it was a catalyst for seeing incredible things happen in our community.

Rev Sam Burnett, The Wave Baptist Church, Exmouth

The project was extremely ambitious and I still cannot believe how much was accomplished in 10 hours. Splash were particularly clever in the way they organised, planned and facilitated the whole event. When the children came on site to experience the new play equipment it really was delightful to watch the amazement on their faces. Personally, I can’t wait to work with you again and watch another miracle unfold.

Anne Warner, Assistant Director KIDS London

I cannot emphasise what a fantastic impact you have made on our organisation. You helped us realise a number of our aims and other new opportunities. When you first approached us, I was apprehensive as it seemed so big, but you helped us rethink and challenge our approach of making ‘small’ changes. We would definitely recommend other charities to take the plunge, trust what you can do, and be open to opportunities.
