“Best volunteering day we’ve ever done”

Fifty BAE Systems’ Group Communications team members stepped away from their desks to take part in a project focused on teamwork, connection and purpose.  

Together, in just one day, they built a play train, reading pods, planters, sensory boards, seating, a pergola  – and much more – for a London-based SSAFA-funded refuge that provides accommodation and support for women and their children who are homeless.  

By the end of the project day, barriers had been broken, ‘silos’ softened, and a stronger, more connected communications team stood proud of what they had achieved together.
