Wayne Stewart

Programme Facilitator

Wayne Stewart Splash Projects team

Wayne’s skills as a craftsman and sports coach, coupled with his military background make him a highly experienced Project Facilitator.

He first started working for Splash as a Specialist, alongside running his own business as a carpenter/joiner. His professionalism and easy-going nature have made him a very popular member of the team. As one of our Project Facilitators, Wayne’s role is to make sure the learning objectives are achieved during the programme; as well as ensuring the project is completed to a high standard within the time frame and budget.

Wayne served in the Royal Engineers for eight years, spending most of his time with 59 Independent Commando Squadron. He served in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq, chiefly on construction and humanitarian tasks, which included the construction or destruction of fortifications, bridges and roads, the laying and clearing of mines and neutralising IEDs. As a qualified fitter and a military commercial diver he carried out underwater tasks such as reconnaissance, demolition, construction, searches, concreting, recovery and using hydraulic tools, usually in zero visibility.

On leaving the army, Wayne ran his own business before joining Splash full-time.
In his spare time he can be found on the rugby pitch, teaching local children’s teams. He also swims, runs and sails and is an enthusiastic fundraiser for the Royal British Legion.
