Programme Facilitator

Simon joined the Royal Air Force at 16 years old, beginning his military career as a Survival Equipment Fitter. He went on to specialise as a military free fall parachute rigger; training and supporting all UK airborne forces worldwide. He also served for two seasons within the elite RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team before completing operational tours overseas.

Simon left the military at the rank of Sergeant and joined Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service as a frontline firefighter. He is now a Watch Manager, specialising in Incident Command and Control along with critical risk management.  Simon has gained numerous management and leadership qualifications during his 14-year fire service career, as well as becoming a qualified Breathing Apparatus and Fire Behaviour Instructor. He is also a qualified First Person on Scene Trauma Care operator. His aptitude at leading and motivating teams within pressured environments along with his communication skills, bring together a blend that contributes greatly to Splash’s expertise within these fields.

In his spare time Simon enjoys mountaineering, running and is a keen gardener. He lives on Exmoor and loves spending time with his family, walking and kayaking around the North Devon coast.
