We are delighted to announce our latest community impact project: the second-stage of the Bristol Adventure Playground (a.k.a. Teyfant Road Adventure playground) has been completed. Splash worked with Learning Partnership West to design and construct this multi-level play structure, giving children an exciting place to climb, play and to look out over the city of Bristol (and even see the Clifton Suspension Bridge).
Splash Projects undertook this project in the height of the coronavirus pandemic, effectively “practicing what we preach” in terms of team work, tenacity, CSR, sustainable development and handling VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity)! Staff were keen to get this project done on schedule – and the kids needed their new structure for the summer holidays. The location of the playground is near to our corporate headquarters. We didn’t want to let Learning Partnership West nor the children down, so we put together a team entirely made up of Splash volunteers and they worked tirelessly on the project over the course of a week – through the blazing sunshine, overcoming the difficulties of working during the pandemic, through ferocious heat!
We think the new structure at Bristol Adventure Playground looks stunning and demonstrates how community involvement is so key – especially in these pandemic times. See below for photos of us working on the site and the finished work.
The next stage of the project will focus on making Bristol Adventure Playground an all-inclusive play structure by constructing a wheelchair access ramp to the higher platforms.
