Karl served in the Royal marines for 19 years from the age of 16. Travelling all over the world, from Norway to the Mediterranean, Far East and Middle East, he also took part in many expeditions while serving in the Marines.
This enabled him to carry out many interests including diving, free-fall parachuting and cycling. While serving he also gained City and Guilds in carpentry and joinery.
Since leaving the Royal Marines he has set up his own small building business for a few years, and continue to carry out his carpentry skills assisting a local builder on a regular basis. But For the past 13 years he has been a Fire officer in charge of a watch of 7 fire fighters. He has also been a Breathing Apparatus training officer, teaching both fire service and outside agencies in the chemistry of Fire Behaviour and Confined space working. This job has also enabled him to gain many BTEC and city and guilds qualifications, and Health and safety certificates.See all Splash Team
