Andy is a highly motivated, multi-skilled, dynamic team leader and manager. He spent 23 years as a Royal Engineer Commando in the British Army, reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1. Andy has served with 3 Commando Brigade, 16 Air Assault Brigade, 33 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), The Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal School, Army Training Regiment and The Defence Academy of the UK, where he was the expert in mines and demolitions.
After leaving the military, Andy worked across Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East, conducting physical security work for US embassies and consulate buildings. He later headed up the Kabul office for a UK Construction company and oversaw the closure of British military bases. He is also a Demolitions Safety Officer, Water Safety Officer, Work Boat Operator, carpenter & joiner, Close Protection Officer and is qualified to teach in the Life Long Learning sector.
Prior to joining Splash, Andy was the Property Project Manager, overseeing the design and refurbishment of UK Post Offices’ Network Transformation Programme. This role involved creating feasibility studies for, designing and installing new Post Offices within retail locations across the UK, as part of the strategic plan to secure their future.
In his spare time Andy is a martial arts competitor, successfully taking part in national Tae Kwon Do competitions. During his military career he was a keen boxer, twice competing in The Army Championships. Despite the chilly British waters, Andy is also a keen year-round open water sea swimmerSee all Splash Team
