“Leadership can be about vulnerability, you can make mistakes and you can ask for help, and that still makes you a great leader.” Participant
Just outside Paris, a team of 40 Heineken employees led and managed the construction of a new sensory garden for children at the Ellen Poidatz Foundation. In the span of one day, the team was challenged to produce a play area for children with some form of motor deficiency. Most of the children, who range from 18 months to 20 years old, stay overnight during the week, whereas some are weekend residents as well.
Splash Projects taught team members how to collaborate with each other and coordinate tasks. The key to developing people and teams was to first engage others and inspire them to fulfil their tasks. No small feat, team members ensured that they complemented each other through their individual tasks without losing sight of the overarching goal; they learned to think globally, an indispensable tool for today’s aspiring workers.
The Ellen Poidatz Foundation is a non-profit organisation focused on the education, rehabilitation, and support of children, teens and adults with a variety of health and mental conditions. Learn more about the Ellen Poidatz Foundation
