As part of the first module of their Leadership Programme with INSEAD, 25 senior managers came together in Singapore to construct a new facility for the MINDS Towner Gardens School.
The event began the evening before the project day at the INSEAD campus, where the participants were briefed on the build they had to complete. They then broke down into subgroups and assigned sub-leaders to each to help spread out the tasks between the entire group.
Participants discussing the project designs and planning their tasks with one of our Splash facilitators Gavin.
The children they would be constructing facilities for attend the MINDS Towner Gardens School, a school purposely built for special needs children who have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
The design focused on making the build a multi-use space that could be used as an events space, outdoor market, outdoor classroom and a sensory play area.
The space gives the children a place to learn vocational skills where they can set up stores; learn how to sell things; communicate with others and learn how to handle money when it comes to transactions.
The team pushed all day measuring, cutting, fixing, building and painting to complete the project just before the charity handover deadline.
Congratulations to all the team for completing such an impactful project for the MINDS Towner Gardens School
