35 participants completed a 1-day Splash Project with INSEAD. The participants were tasked with building an activity area for the children of the IME Des Grands-Champs, to help develop their motor skills and express themselves through play.
The project was also given an added dimension as a small element of the build was left to the participants to design and build from a list of limited resources. As will all Splash Projects, it was important that the participants were provided with an environment to learn from mistakes and overcome challenges themselves where possible.
The host charity, IME Des Grands-Champs, is part of the Childhood Autism branch of the Foundation Des Amis De L’Atelier organisation and supports children and young people aged 18 months to 20 years old with various disorders on the autism spectrum. The Childhood Centre’s mission is to meet the needs of children with autism and their families, so that they can have the best quality of life possible. Different possibilities of care are proposed in order to offer each child a tailored plan which corresponds to their needs.
The team overcame some tough weather conditions to complete this outdoor activity area for the children. We hope that the activity area and obstacles are enjoyed by the children for years to come!
