One day ‘Workathon’ results in beautiful play space

Splash Projects and Ulster Bank are delighted to have supported 174 Trust in the development of their new play space. This is the article that was published in the Trusts’ newsletter after our departure:

“We saw an exciting event take place at 174 Trust in North Belfast. Ulster Bank employees, together with the Splash Projects team developed and enhanced a play space on 174 Trusts grounds in Dublin, benefiting many children.

The 174 Trust is a non-denominational organisation that facilitates a variety of essential community projects including afterschool and preschool provision. The Trust offers opportunities and assistance to people of all ages and is committed to a process of community development based on building relationships with local people and working together to identify and meet local needs.

Steve Daniels, head of HR for the Ulster Bank Group worked with Splash Projects to co-ordinate the attendance of 54 employees of the bank for a one day ‘workathon’ that resulted in a beautiful play space being created. He did this with the support and expertise of Simon Poole, Director of Splash Projects, which is a company that delivers highly-rewarding community-based projects that motivate employees and develop their business skills, while at the same time giving staff and companies the chance to make a positive difference in the world.  Steve and Simon had worked before on projects in England and this time it was Northern Ireland’s turn to benefit from their expertise, community spirit and downright hard work.

Five members of the ‘Splash’ team spent a number of days preparing the site for transformation and this is exactly what took place– a transformation! CONGRATULATIONS to 174 Trust, thank you to the Ulster Bank and well done to Splash for making it all happen”.
