August 2018 saw 140 MBA students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School planning, leading & executing a Splash Project in Hong Kong that benefited 500 children from a local primary school run by the Salvation Army.
One of the participants, Harsh Singhi had this to say about the experience:
That’s how every MBA should start. Right on our first day we were pushed to extremities. We were given the task of building a playground for the kids.
None of us had any prior construction knowledge and the bad weather added to our woes but we overcame the uncertainties to deliver the desired result. It was our first VUCA challenge.
30 hours of Splash but learnings and experiences for a lifetime. It was one of my best experiences in life, and everyone should get the chance to be a part of a splash project. Thank you!
Less than a month after this project was completed, Hong Kong was hit by a typhoon. Splash undertook a maintenance check after the typhoon had past making sure the project was still all in good order for the children of the Salvation Army Centaline Charity Fund School.
